ReCruz upcycles produce intended for the landfill. During the food loss of processing and manufacturing, there is a copious amount of discarded produce. In 2020, we redirected 1 million pounds of produce. This Year, we are set out to redirect 2 million pounds of produce.
We are a small business working to upcycle fresh-cut produce. We are also one of the few companies working within foodservice. Minimizing food waste has many positive environmental and socio-economic ramifications.
We are currently redirecting our produce to further manufacturers to repurpose into their delicious products and extend the life of by-product. We also redirect to local dairy farms to incorporate into their cattle feed.
